Halfway There

I am halfway through my latest novel, Honored.  It is strange how fickle time is, either speeding up or slowing down.  I have been diligently working to complete my manuscript so that my dear friend and fellow author may read it before she dies.  She will soon quietly pass from this life.  I have promised to dedicate my first published book to her as well as continuing to check on the progress of her novel.  I count myself fortunate for knowing her.

Update

Soul Sisters is now finished and will be submitted along with my Eyes of the Unknown series.  It will be exciting to see which one sells first.  Dianna has prepared a list of interested publishers and will soon send off my manuscripts.  Harper Teen has expressed an interest in my writing style and has asked to read Soul Sisters.

As always, I am pushing myself by trying something new.  I have just started writing Honored.  In this fantasy fiction novel, I tell the story of a young woman named Alaina, who has an ability to draw out people’s fears and hopes and bring them to life.

Next Step

Over the past six months, I have been simultaneously editing Eyes of the Others while writing Soul Sisters. Late last night, I completed the rough draft of my latest manuscript.  I will now spend the next two to three months editing Soul Sisters. It has been an enjoyable challenge writing with a new voice and style.  Overall, I am very pleased with the results.

Moving Forward

I have completed the last revisions with the third and final novel in my Eyes of the Unknown series.  Eyes of the Others concludes Sarah Ashton’s journey, but leaves the door open for an additional spin off series told through Anne Breslin’s eyes.

In the meantime, I have begun a new stand alone novel Soul Sisters.  It tells the story of  Abby Wilson, a teenage girl who suffers with Conversion Disorder and shares a unique connection with her comatose sister.  The story has been pressing on me to be told for the last year and it is quickly coming along.  The first draft is nearing competition.
